The threat of being eaten

‎"Mr. Dickson, you are advanced in years now, and your own prospect is soon to be laid in the grave, there to be eaten by worms; I confess to you, that if I can but live and die serving and honoring the Lord Jesus, it will make no difference to me whether I am eaten by Cannibals or by worms; and in the Great Day my Resurrection body will rise as fair as yours in the likeness of our risen Redeemer." - John G. Paton, after being told not to go on the mission field because of the threat of being eaten.

What you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.

Matthew 10:26-33
“So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. 28And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 32So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven."

We are called to proclaim the Gospel, fearlessly. Are you ashamed of Christ? Ask your self this daily. Look at your actions and motives. How many lost and dying people did you proclaim the hope of Christ to today?

I'm not saying you should act on your own will, without being led by the Spirit, but perhaps if you step out in boldness, as God so often commands, the Spirit will go with you, He will guide you, and He will talk through you.

Remember:

"1And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God." - 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Are you being persecuted?

John 15:18-25
18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason.'
Christ says if we belong to the world it will love us, but if we belong to Him, it will hate us. Are you hated by the world? Do you live a life that shines G-d's light so brightly, that the world is blinded by it? Or are you living a dully lit life, so that the world can't see how you follow G-d and therefore does not persecute you.

Paul says in 2 Tim 3:12
"In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted"

An old-time evangelist once said, if I preach in a town and dont get chased out, I wonder whether I preached the right gospel or not. If we are preaching, and not facing persecution and hatred, it may be wise to seek G-d on whether we are preaching His true Word or not.
Matt 5:11-12
11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
And remember brothers and sisters, when you are persecuted, "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse" - Rom 12:14

The Gospel... told in Genesis 5

My friend Sara showed me something that I want to share with everyone who reads this...

Check out Genesis 5 and the names recorded within it.

Here's a translation of those names:

Adam = man

Seth = appointed

Enosh = subject to death

Kenan = sorrowful

Mahalalel = from the presence of God

Jared = one comes down

Enoch = Dedicated

Methuselah = dieing he shall send

Lamech = (to the) Poor and Lowly

Noah = rest and comfort

The whole Gospel story told in name translations in Genesis 5. Pretty neat.
I did a little research to make sure this was accurate and from what I found it seems to be.
But if anyone wants to dig deeper and find out for sure, I urge you to, and I would ask that you would let me know what you find.

Focus on Messiah, Keep your eyes on G-d

An ever growing trend among the church is slowly killing our message to the world.
Popularity, fun, love, acceptance, teaching, blessing, forgiveness, peace, all these things sound great. What can be wrong with them you may ask?

I tell you, without Messiah, without G-d they mean nothing. If you have a building of worship, a church building, and your main goal is to entertain, to get a bigger congregation, to show love and acceptance, to spread peace among the world, then you are in the wrong.

All these things are lies without G-d. True love and true peace can only be found through Messiah. We are to preach Messiah crucified and encourage each other in Yeshua. Forget not the center of our faith, for these things are destructive without the Truth that is YHVH.

Do not be deceived brothers and sisters.
Seek G-d and keep your eyes focused upon Him.
